Bitten by the Stitchy Bug! (I'm Back!)

Hello everyone! It's been a few years since I posted. Life happened and I haven't had time to stitch. But, the last few months of being at home has given me plenty of extra time on my hands. I have rediscovered my love of cross stitch!! I have been stitching like a mad women the last month or so. I discovered floss tube and the big wide stitch-y world has been opened up to me. I thought it would be the prefect time to come back and share my projects. This community is amazing and it's so great to be a small, small, part of it.

So, here is the first project I picked up and starting working on. I started this sometime early 2019. All that is left is the back stich, some French knots and a few lazy daisy's (which I've never done...so I'm a bit nervous about those).  I still haven't decided if I'll keep it for myself or gift it.

14 count aida

Speaking of wedding records, I have a lot of people I would like to stitch one for. So, please let me know: what is your favorite wedding record pattern you've stitched (or seen)? I found some very pretty ones on Etsy that I have my eye on.

Until next time, Happy Stitching!

Finished Sparkling Snowfolk!

I finished E.E.'s snowman earlier this month and here it finally is!!

^ Without flash

With flash >

Such a lil cutie!

I think the stitching powers that be did not want me to finish this project. Every time I turned around something was stopping me from working on it (number and color didn't match, then couldn't find the right color, then the Light Effects tread kept being a pain). But, I finally finished it.  :-)   Now, I just have to find somewhere to put my initials and wait until the other ladies are all ready to mail!

Here is E.E.'s snowman bell pull as of right now:

E.E. is currently stitching TWO fairies for me...I can't wait to see them!! Next "round" coming to me has a Mickey/Minnie theme. I still haven't found a pattern yet.

I have been very blessed...all of ladies in my group are amazing! There are so nice and not to mention very talented stitchers. I could not have asked to be in a better group...they have made my first Round Robin experience wonderful!

WIP: Colorful Christmas Tree

Okay, so here's my progress on the Colorful Christmas Tree!

It's looks a lot more colorful than before, huh.
All that's left is to stitch the "ribbons" and "dots" then outline/back stitch everything.

Doesn't look like much to do right? Well, it wouldn't be if the ribbons weren't being meanies. I was working on the bottom ribbon last night and I must have pick it out 3 or 4 times! I don't know what was wrong but it just wasn't working. I'm still not satisfied with the way it turned out but I don't know what to do.

I hate when this happens....you can't get something to look right and have to pick out stiches over and over. Do you have any horror stories you would like to share? Have any tips or tricks you've picked up when dealing with these things?

Let me know!

I'm off to try to get these ribbons done. Wish me luck!

I thought I would show you all some of my work. Enjoy! ;-)

I gave this one to my Granny....she LOVES humming birds.
"Hummingbird" by Candamar Designs. 14 count Aida. 5" X 7".

> I love the quote...to bad something got spilled on it.
6/2/11 "Hummingbird and Morning Glories" by Dimensions. 14 count Aida. 5" X 7".
< My Granny gave me this kit because I didn't have anything to work on.

9/22/11 "Flowers And Hummingbird" by Dimensions. 18 count Aida. 5" X 7".

> My Earliest Cross Stitches

I don't remember how old I was when I did these or which one I did first. Both are stamped kits.

I messed up on the whale...he's supposed to have more dark blue at the bottom. What can I say? I was young. lol

Works in Progess!

<  I've got more of it done since I took this pic. Had to put this one on the back burner becasue I joined a Round Robin and have been working on those projects.

> My theme for the Round Robin is Fairies (surprise, I know lol). Here is my lovely little "Easter Fairy."  I had to send her on without her wings and a flower. I'll finsh her when I ger her back later this year.

Here's the link to the site where I got this pattern. (Although, I don't think this pattern is on there any more.)
They have lots of free patterns to chose from!

< This is for my Round Robin. A.R.'s theme is Christmas Trees! She provided the patterns for the group to chose which ones we wanted to do.
This pattern is called "Colorful Christmas Tree." (Don't worry, the colorful part is coming. lol)

Here's the link, if you want to grab this freebie!

Introduction...Get to know me!

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my stitching blog. Just to tell you a little bit about me:

~ I am currently 23 years old. I have a wonderful boyfriend who makes me so happy. I attended a small community college for psychology and physical therapy assistant.

~ I have been surronded by cross stitching my whole life. My Granny, Anut, and Mother all cross stitch. I "started" cross stitching at a young age. I did a few stamped learn-a-craft kits when I was little. I started and completed my very first counted cross stitch in May of 2010. And I haven't looked back since!

~ The things I love about cross stitching are:
1) It's great therapy! It allows you to have time for yourself to escape the crazyness of life.
2) It makes great personal gifts to give or if you keep them for yourself, you will always have a beautiful piece of art.
3) I just love watching a project come to life! At first it's just a block of color and then slowly shapes emerge, etc. I think it's amazing that I can create something out of nothing. At first it's just a blank piece of farbic then when you're done, there's this work of art!

~ The name of this blog comes from my love of fairies (they are so beautiful!) and of course cross stiching. I know it's stupid but I couldn't really think of anything cool. lol

~ I plan on posting pictures of my projects and just getting to know all of you awesome people!

So, feedback time! What would you like to see on this blog? Any thoughts, comments, suggestions? Also, if you have a blog, I would love it if you shared the link! I love to ooo and ahhh over pics! :-)

Thanks for reading!
